Endress Hauser Proline Promag W 10 Electromagnetic Flowmeter 5WBB1F 5WBB1H 5WBB25

The Proline Promag W 10 is an electromagnetic flowmeter from Endress+Hauser, designed for basic water and wastewater applications with an easy-to-use operation concept. Featuring a straightforward hardware and software design, it simplifies every step of the instrument lifecycle from engineering to servicing. It is ideal for elementary measurement tasks such as raw water intake.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Reliable Measurement with No Pressure Loss: The patented full-bore sensor requires no inlet or outlet runs (0 x DN) and ensures constant accuracy with no pressure loss due to cross-section constriction. The bidirectional measuring principle is virtually independent of pressure, density, temperature, and viscosity.

  • Flexible and Durable Design: The sensor is available with fixed or lap-joint process connections and features a robust, completely welded construction. It meets EN ISO 12944 corrosion protection standards, making it suitable for underground or permanent underwater installation, with an optional IP68 (Type 6P) enclosure.

  • Easy Operation and Commissioning: Operation is intuitive via mobile devices using the SmartBlue app or a display with touch screen. Wizard-guided parameterization can be performed in advance or in the field to save commissioning time.

  • Broad Approvals: Holds international drinking water approvals including ACS, KTW-BWGL, NSF 61, and WRAS.

  • Built-in Heartbeat Technology: Integrated verification ensures measurement reliability, enables compliant verification in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 (TÜV SÜD-attested), and allows extension of recalibration cycles.

Featuring a straightforward hardware and software design, it simplifies every step of the instrument lifecycle from engineering to servicing, making it ideal for elementary measurement tasks such as raw water intake.

The meter operates on the electromagnetic measuring principle, which is virtually independent of pressure, density, temperature, and viscosity. With no moving parts, the device is maintenance-free and delivers energy-efficient measurement without pressure loss due to cross-section constriction. The patented full-bore sensor design requires no inlet or outlet runs (0 x DN), ensuring constant accuracy even in space-restricted installations. The nominal diameter range covers DN 25 to 3000 (1 to 120 inches), with measuring capabilities from 0.5 m³/h to 263,000 m³/h (2.5 gal/min to 1,665 Mgal/d). Measurement accuracy is specified at ±0.5% of reading ± 1 mm/s for standard applications, with an optional high-accuracy version at ±0.2% of reading ± 2 mm/s.

Wetted materials are selected for compatibility with water applications. Liner options include hard rubber (0 to +80°C), polyurethane (–20 to +50°C), and PTFE (–20 to +90°C). Electrode materials are available in 1.4435 (316L) stainless steel and Alloy C22 (2.4602/UNS N06022). The sensor housing is constructed of coated AlSi10Mg for DN 25–300, with carbon steel and protective varnish for larger sizes. Maximum process pressure is PN 40, Class 300, or 20K.

The sensor is built for flexible installation with robust, completely welded construction. It meets EN ISO 12944 corrosion protection standards, making it suitable for underground or permanent underwater installation, with an optional IP68 (Type 6P) enclosure. The device holds international drinking water approvals including ACS, KTW-BWGL, NSF 61, and WRAS.

The transmitter housing is constructed of durable polycarbonate and is rated IP66/67, Type 4X enclosure for protection in demanding environments. Operation is intuitive via mobile devices using the SmartBlue app with Bluetooth connectivity or a local LCD display with touch and auto-rotate functionality. Wizard-guided parameterization can be performed in advance or in the field to save commissioning time. Digital communication options include HART and Modbus RS485. Power supply options include DC 24 V and AC 100 to 230 V.

Integrated Heartbeat Technology enables continuous process safety monitoring and compliant verification in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 (TÜV SÜD-attested). This technology allows extension of recalibration cycles and provides proof of measurement reliability without process interruption.

The Proline Promag W 10 delivers reliable, cost-effective flow measurement for basic water and wastewater applications, combining a space-saving full-bore design with easy operation, flexible installation, and the diagnostic power of Heartbeat Technology.
