Endress Hauser Proline Prowirl D 200 Vortex Flowmeter 7D2C15 7D2C1F 7D2C1H

The Proline Prowirl D 200 is a cost-effective wafer-style vortex flowmeter from Endress+Hauser, optimized for wet, saturated, and superheated steam, gases, and liquids, including cryogenic applications. Featuring genuine loop-powered two-wire technology and a robust, drift-free capacitive DSC sensor, the device enables seamless integration into existing infrastructures while delivering superior long-term stability and operational safety in hazardous areas.

The flowmeter operates on the Karman vortex street principle. As fluid flows past a bluff body, vortices are alternately formed on both sides, generating pressure fluctuations that are detected by the capacitive sensor and converted to electrical pulses. The frequency of vortex shedding is proportional to the volume flow, and the device has no moving parts, ensuring maintenance-free operation. The nominal diameter range covers DN 15 to 150 (½ to 6 inches), with measuring ranges of 0.25 to 625 m³/h for liquids and 2.1 to 8,335 m³/h for steam and gas.

The sensor installs directly between two flanges with a compact face-to-face length of 65 mm (2.56 in), eliminating the need for flanges and reducing weight and installation costs. Included centering rings enable easy alignment during installation. Integrated temperature measurement via Pt1000 sensors enables mass flow and energy flow calculation for saturated steam. Accuracy specifications include ±0.75% for liquid volume flow, ±1.00% for steam and gas volume flow, ±0.85% for liquid mass flow, and ±1.7% for steam and gas mass flow. Maximum process pressure is PN 40, Class 300, or 20K, with a standard medium temperature range of –40 to +260°C and optional high/low temperature versions extending from –200 to +400°C.

Wetted materials are selected for durability and compatibility. The measuring tube is constructed of 1.4408 (CF3M), with the DSC sensor available in 1.4435 (316/316L). The capacitive DSC sensor is drift-free and proven to withstand vibrations, temperature shocks, and water hammer, ensuring long-term stability without recalibration.

The transmitter features a robust dual-compartment housing with a separate connection compartment for convenient wiring. A 4-line backlit display with touch control enables safe operation without opening the device, and a remote display version is available. The compact version is rated IP66/67, Type 4X enclosure. Digital communication options include HART, PROFIBUS PA, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, PROFINET over Ethernet-APL, and Modbus TCP over Ethernet-APL.

Integrated Heartbeat Technology enables continuous process safety monitoring and compliant verification in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 (TÜV SÜD-attested), allowing extension of recalibration cycles without process interruption. The device is developed according to IEC 61508 for functional safety (SIL) and holds international hazardous area approvals including ATEX, IECEx, cCSAus, JPN, EAC, UK Ex, and KC.

The Proline Prowirl D 200 delivers reliable, cost-effective vortex flow measurement for demanding steam, gas, and liquid applications, combining a compact wafer design, robust construction, maintenance-free operation, and the advanced diagnostic power of Heartbeat Technology.
