Endress Hauser Digital combined pH/ORP sensor Memosens CPS96E CPS16E

The Memosens CPS76E is a digital combined pH/ORP sensor from Endress+Hauser, engineered as the heavy-duty specialist for simultaneous pH and ORP measurement in demanding chemical processes and poisoning media. Featuring Memosens 2.0 technology and a unique contamination-resistant reference, it delivers stable measurement in polluted, poisoning media and in media with low conductivity.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Simultaneous pH, ORP, and rH Measurement: The sensor measures pH, ORP, and rH value (in rH mode) simultaneously, providing a better process overview and enabling tighter process control.

  • Unique Ion Trap for Poison Resistance: A unique ion trap prevents poisoning of the electrode’s junction and reference, ensuring a long sensor lifetime even in media with high levels of electrode poisons such as H2S.

  • Contamination-Resistant Reference: The advanced gel technology with ceramic junction and ion trap guarantees stable measurement in polluted, poisoning media and in media with low conductivity.

  • Optional Pressurized Reference: The optional pressurized reference ensures reliable measurement in blocking media, such as dispersions.

  • Memosens 2.0 Digital Technology: Offers extended storage of calibration and process data, enabling better trend identification and providing a future-proof basis for predictive maintenance and enhanced IIoT services.

  • Maximum Process Safety: Non-contact, inductive signal transmission resists moisture and enables lab calibration, combining maximum process integrity with simple operation.

Endress Hauser Digital combined pH/ORP sensor Memosens CPS96E CPS16E

The Memosens CPS96E and CPS16E are digital combined pH/ORP sensors from Endress+Hauser, each engineered for distinct application profiles while sharing Memosens 2.0 technology for reliable, future-proof measurement. Both sensors measure pH, ORP, and rH values simultaneously, providing a better process overview and enabling tighter process control.

The Memosens CPS96E is the specialist for heavily contaminated media with high suspended solids, dispersions, precipitations, and emulsions. It features an open aperture and double gel reference with ion trap, ensuring reliable measurement in demanding chemical, pulp and paper, and wastewater applications. The sensor provides a pH measuring range of 0 to 14 and an ORP measuring range of –1,500 to 1,500 mV. Process temperature range is 0 to 110°C (32 to 230°F), with process pressure of 0.8 to 14 bar absolute. The open aperture design prevents clogging and ensures stable measurement even in media with high solids content.

The Memosens CPS16E is the standard solution for long-term stable process and water applications. It uses a large PTFE ring junction with poison-resistant reference and ion trap, suitable for standard process, water and wastewater, chemical, power, and mining applications. The sensor offers a pH measuring range of 1 to 12 for Application A and 0 to 14 for Application B, with an ORP measuring range of –1,500 to 1,500 mV. Process temperature ranges from –15 to 80°C for Application A and 0 to 135°C for Application B, with process pressure of 0.8 to 17 bar absolute. The large PTFE ring junction provides a large contact area between the reference and the medium, ensuring stable measurement and long sensor lifetime.

Both sensors feature an additional platinum electrode that enables constant monitoring of reference impedance, serving as a reliable indicator of sensor quality. This allows early detection of sensor deterioration and supports predictive maintenance strategies. Both sensors include an integrated NTC 30k temperature sensor for automatic temperature compensation.

Memosens 2.0 digital technology offers extended storage of calibration and process data, enabling better trend identification and providing a future-proof basis for predictive maintenance and enhanced IIoT services. Non-contact, inductive signal transmission resists moisture and enables lab calibration, combining maximum process integrity with simple operation.

Both sensors connect via an inductive, digital connection head with Memosens 2.0 technology and are rated IP68 for ingress protection. They hold comprehensive hazardous area approvals including ATEX, IECEx, CSA C/US, NEPSI, Japan Ex, and INMETRO for use in Zone 0, 1, and 2.

The Memosens CPS96E and CPS16E deliver reliable, application-specific combined pH/ORP measurement, combining simultaneous multivariable capability, poison-resistant reference technology, and the advanced diagnostic power of Memosens 2.0.
