The Proline Promag W 800 is a battery-powered electromagnetic flowmeter from Endress+Hauser, engineered for demanding water and wastewater applications in locations without a power supply. Featuring an energy-efficient transmitter and worldwide data transmission capabilities, it is ideal for drinking water distribution networks, irrigation systems, and remote monitoring stations.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Battery-Powered Operation with Long Lifetime: The transmitter is powered by a battery with a lifetime of up to 15 years, enabling autonomous operation in off-grid locations without the need for an external power supply. Measuring intervals can be adapted individually to optimize energy consumption.

  • Designed for Harsh Water and Wastewater Applications: The Promag W 800 is dedicated to industrial and municipal water and wastewater measurement. It is built for direct underground installation or permanent underwater use, with EN ISO 12944 corrosion protection and IP68 (Type 6P enclosure) rating.

  • Maintenance-Free and Energy-Efficient: The bidirectional measuring principle has no moving parts, ensuring maintenance-free operation with no pressure loss due to cross-section constriction. It is virtually independent of pressure, density, temperature, and viscosity.

  • Global Data Transmission and Communication: The transmitter enables secure data storage and worldwide encrypted communication over mobile networks (LTE Cat M1/NB1/NB2, GPRS, EGPRS). Remote data access is possible via email and SMS, and device commissioning and operation are convenient via Bluetooth using the intuitive SmartBlue app.

  • Broad Approvals and Certifications: Holds international drinking water approvals and is approved for custody transfer according to MI-001/OIML R49 standards. The robust and completely welded sensor ensures reliable long-term operation.

  • Built-in Heartbeat Technology: Integrated verification ensures measurement reliability and enables compliant verification according to ISO 9001, providing proof of measurement reliability without process interruption.

The Proline Promag W 800 is a battery-powered electromagnetic flowmeter from Endress+Hauser, engineered for demanding water and wastewater applications in locations without a power supply. Featuring an energy-efficient transmitter with a battery lifetime of up to 15 years, it enables autonomous operation and worldwide data transmission via mobile networks.

The meter operates on the electromagnetic measuring principle, measuring flow bidirectionally with no moving parts. This design ensures maintenance-free operation and energy-efficient measurement without pressure loss due to cross-section constriction. The nominal diameter range covers DN 25 to 900 (1 to 36 inches), with measuring capabilities from 9 dm³/min to 22,500 m³/h (2.5 to 100,000 gal/min). Measurement accuracy is specified at ±0.5% of reading ± 2 mm/s.

Wetted materials are selected for compatibility with water applications. Liner options include polyurethane, hard rubber, and PTFE, with electrode materials available in 1.4435 (316L) stainless steel and Alloy C22 (2.4602/UNS N06022). The sensor housing is constructed of coated AlSi10Mg for DN 25–300, with carbon steel and protective varnish for larger sizes, and the transmitter housing is made of durable polycarbonate. Maximum process pressure is PN 40, Class 300, or 20K.

The sensor is built for direct underground installation or permanent underwater use, meeting EN ISO 12944 corrosion protection standards with an IP68 (Type 6P enclosure) rating. The device holds international drinking water approvals including ACS, KTW/W270, NSF 61, and WRAS BS 6920, with custody transfer certification according to MI-001/OIML R49 standards.

The transmitter features secure data storage and worldwide encrypted communication over mobile networks (LTE Cat M1/NB1/NB2, GPRS, EGPRS), with remote data access via email and SMS. Local operation is convenient via a 4-line backlit display with touch control, and device commissioning is supported through Bluetooth using the intuitive SmartBlue app. Digital communication options include Modbus RS485.
