The Proline Prowirl F 200 is a multivariable vortex flowmeter from Endress+Hauser, optimized for wet, saturated, and superheated steam, gases, and liquids, including cryogenic applications. Featuring genuine loop-powered two-wire technology and a robust, drift-free capacitive DSC sensor, the device enables cost-effective integration into existing infrastructures while delivering superior long-term stability and operational safety. The preferred measuring principle for steam applications, it provides inline wet steam measurement with capabilities for nominal diameters DN 25 to 300 (1 to 12 inches).

The device measures volume flow, mass flow, corrected volume flow, energy flow, heat flow difference, and temperature. Integrated temperature and pressure measurement enables easy energy management for steam and gases. The meter is compliant with the international vortex standard ISO 12764 and delivers consistent accuracy down to Reynolds number Re 10,000, offering one of the most linear vortex meter bodies available. Accuracy specifications include ±0.75% for liquid volume flow (standard), ±0.65% as an optional upgrade, ±1.00% for steam and gas volume flow, ±0.85% for liquid mass flow, and ±1.5% to ±1.7% for saturated steam mass flow depending on compensation method. The nominal diameter range covers DN 15 to 300 (½ to 12 inches), with measuring ranges of 0.2 to 2,100 m³/h for liquids and 1.5 to 28,000 m³/h for steam and gas.

Wetted materials are selected for durability and compatibility with process media. The measuring tube is constructed of 1.4408 (CF3M) or CX2MW similar to Alloy C22, with the DSC sensor available in 1.4404 (316/316L) or UNS N06022 similar to Alloy C22. Maximum process pressure is PN 100, Class 600, or 20K. Medium temperature range is –40 to +260°C (–40 to +500°F) as standard, with an optional high/low temperature version extending from –200 to +400°C (–328 to +752°F).

The transmitter features a robust dual-compartment housing with a separate connection compartment for convenient wiring. A 4-line backlit display with touch control enables safe operation without opening the device. A display module with data transfer function is included, and a remote display version is available for flexible installation. Digital communication options include HART, PROFIBUS PA, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, PROFINET over Ethernet-APL, and Modbus TCP over Ethernet-APL. The compact version is rated IP66/67, Type 4X enclosure.

Integrated Heartbeat Technology enables continuous process safety monitoring and traceable verification in accordance with ISO 9001 (TÜV SÜD-attested), allowing extension of recalibration cycles without process interruption.
