The Proline Prowirl R 200 is a cost-effective vortex flowmeter from Endress+Hauser, optimized for low-flow applications and designed to deliver best-in-class accuracy even with pipe diameter reductions. Featuring integrated diameter reduction by one or two line sizes, it eliminates the need for costly pipework modifications, providing significant cost and time savings.

The flowmeter operates on the Karman vortex street principle, with no moving parts for maintenance-free operation. Integrated temperature and pressure measurement enable multivariable capabilities, including volume flow, mass flow, corrected volume flow, energy flow, heat flow difference, and temperature. The device is designed for mating pipe nominal diameters of DN 25 to 250 (1 to 10 inches), with measuring ranges of 0.1 to 540 m³/h for liquids and 0.52 to 7,300 m³/h for steam and gas.

The integrated diameter reduction by one or two line sizes eliminates the need for pipework modifications, reducing installation complexity and costs. The device delivers consistent accuracy down to Reynolds number Re 10,000, featuring one of the most linear vortex meter bodies available. Volume flow accuracy is ±0.75% for liquids and ±1.00% for steam and gas, with liquid mass flow accuracy at ±0.85%.

Wetted materials are selected for durability and compatibility. The measuring tube is constructed of 1.4408 (CF3M), and the DSC sensor is available in 1.4404/F316/F316L. Maximum process pressure is PN 40, Class 300, or 20K. Medium temperature range is –40 to +260°C as standard, with an optional high/low-temperature version extending from –200 to +400°C (and up to +450°C on request).

The robust, drift-free capacitive DSC sensor ensures reliable measurement over extended periods without recalibration. The transmitter features a robust dual-compartment housing with a separate connection compartment for convenient wiring and a 4-line backlit display with touch control for safe operation without opening the device. A remote display version is also available. Digital communication options include HART, PROFIBUS PA, and FOUNDATION Fieldbus. The device holds hazardous area approvals (ATEX, IECEx, cCSAus, JPN, EAC, UK Ex) and marine approvals (ABS, LR, BV, DNV), and is developed according to IEC 61508 for functional safety (SIL).

Integrated Heartbeat Technology enables continuous process safety monitoring and traceable verification in accordance with ISO 9001, allowing extension of recalibration cycles without process interruption.
